Day 3
After about 4 hours of sleep it was time to get up and get to the main lodge to go on the Denali Tundra Tour. We picked up the box lunches we ordered the night before and boarded our bus. It was only a short ride to the entrance to Denali National Park. We were pleasantly surprised by a wildlife sighting right away.
Momma Moose and her new baby. It's as if she chose to come to near the park entrance to show off her baby to all the busses that would be coming through the park today.
During this 6 hour bus tour, we ventured 43 miles into Denali National Park and saw lots of wildlife and great scenery. Not all of the animals cooperated for their pictures, and clouds obscured most of Mount Denali. Better pictures of that from the train tomorrow.
After this long tour, we went back to our room for a well-deserved nap. We got up to eat dinner and do not much else, as we had to be ready early again the next morning for the Alaska Railroad train to Anchorage.
